March 10-16 is World Salt Awareness Week and residents of Ontario are reminded to “Stop, Look, and Choose” the lower salt item this week when purchasing food in stores and restaurants.

Health Canada recommends Canadians consume no more than 2,300 mg of sodium per day. However, most Canadians consume closer to 3,400mg per day which increases the risk of vascular disease, stroke, and stomach cancer and kidney disease.
